Goffin’s Cockatoo

The Goffin’s Cockatoo (Cacatua goffiniana), also known as the Tanimbar Corella, is a small, intelligent, and social cockatoo native to the Tanimbar Islands of Indonesia. It is one of the smallest white cockatoos, known for its playful personality and problem-solving abilities.

Appearance

• Size: About 12–13 inches (31 cm) long.
• Weight: 250–300 grams.
• Color: Mostly white feathers with light salmon or pink markings near the beak.
• Beak: Pale grey, with black eyes in males and brown eyes in females.
• Crest: Like all cockatoos, it has a small, retractable crest.

• Highly social and affectionate, forming strong bonds with humans.
• Known for exceptional problem-solving skills, even capable of unlocking cage latches.
• Playful and curious, often engaging in tricks and interactive games.
• Moderate vocalization, not as loud as larger cockatoos but still capable of screeching for attention.
